Description
Residing in California for the past 43 years, Cheryl Ehlers is a self taught artist who creates vibrant paintings in watercolors, acrylics and mixed mediums. She has a B.F.A from FIT in graphic design and has transformed her creativity into painting and sculptures that are a tremendous outlet of creativity in her life today.
Artist Statement
Now …. every artist has a biography that tells where you live, what your art and educational background is, and how long you have been an artist, etc. but I am going to share with you insight into what and why I am what I am.
I believe that all artists are born with a gift. They have within their makeup exceptional creative visualization, a talent that goes beyond words. I see beyond mere reflections one normally sees and touches. Combinations of colors are endless, images have no boundaries and vibrancy pours into each piece leaving an imprint of me through color and shape.
Painting from emotion, passion, past experiences and mostly from images stacked in my mind, my art is a celebration of joy in my life, a way to share my visions, thoughts and feelings ... whatever moves me at that moment in time.
I never take lightly the gifts with which I have been graced in this lifetime and enjoy sharing with you my visions, thoughts and feelings into the "reflections in my mind. Enjoy!
